The product is formed from cellulose-containing material, which is modified with the silver ions and obtained from wood fiber such as annual plant fiber. The particle size of the cellulose-containing material ranges from 1 to 200 micrometer. The cellulose-containing material is provided with silver of 1 to 80 percentage by weight, fibrillated and formed as a spherical particle. The silver is provided in granulate, compact, extrudate, pellet or agglomerate form with particle size ranging from 0.2 to 0.8 mm.
