The pump (P) has a pump housing (1) and a constantly rotating impeller (5) with wings rotated in a conveying area (2), where the impeller is partially interspersed by an opening that runs in an outlet on a rear side of the impeller. The opening is covered on the rear side of the impeller. A flow barrier e.g. lateral rib, is assigned to the rear side of the impeller. A cover is inserted into the rear side of the impeller. A chamber is incorporated into the impeller between the opening and the outlet.
