The manifold (1) has an exhaust gas collector housing unit (9) provided for emission of exhaust gas from a cylinder head (2). A gas channel is arranged within the housing unit, and is comprised of a metal fabric provided with chaining threads, weft threads and pores that are formed between the chaining threads and the weft threads. The metal fabric is coated with a catalytically effective material. A wall consisting of a gas-impermeable material is provided between the gas channel and the housing unit. The wall is made of a sound-reflecting flexible material.
