The method for producing a switching rod by joining a round material or a tube with switching fingers, which are optimized in the geometry for a resistance welding process and are simultaneously or consecutively welded with the solid material or tube, is claimed. The welding process takes place by capacitor discharge- or medium frequency welding, in which process-typical welding projections are fixed at the welding finger or shaft (solid- or raw material). The welding projections required for the capacitor discharge welding are formed, punched, stamped or introduced on the switching finger. The method for producing a switching rod by joining a round material or a tube with switching fingers, which are optimized in the geometry for a resistance welding process and are simultaneously or consecutively welded with the solid material or tube, is claimed. The welding process takes place by capacitor discharge welding or medium frequency welding, in which the process-typical welding projections are fixed at the welding finger or shaft (solid- or raw material).
