The apparatus has flow channels (7) and/or mixing channels (8) provided with lateral surfaces producing turbulences i.e. micro turbulences, in sections. The lateral surfaces of the flow channels and/or the mixing channels exhibit increased roughness ranging between 50 and 5000 micrometers in sections. A portion of slots or bars (14) of the lateral surfaces run transverse to direction of flow of an aqueous fiber suspension (1). The flow channels and/or the mixing channels exhibit a polygonal cross section in sections. The flow of the fiber suspension is divided into partial flows.
