The device (100) has a pressure-operated tensioning piston i.e. compression piston, mounted in an axially mobile manner in a direction of a traction mechanism (15). The compression piston is provided for supplying pressure to a spring-tensioned tensioning piston during a compression process, and adjacent drill-holes are arranged in a housing unit. The compression piston is arranged within a compression chamber and the spring-tensioned tensioning piston, and is axially arranged within a high pressure chamber. The drill-holes form an oil reservoir chamber and a supply pressure chamber.
