The device has a protective sleeve (10) comprising a protective sleeve head (11) that consists of a contour (14) formed in a groove-shaped manner and limited by flange-shaped beads (12, 16). The sleeve head is detachably fastenable in a recess of a holder. A transient area (18) is located between the sleeve head and a grid-like sleeve (19) for reducing diameter of the sleeve from necessary height of the groove-like contour to diameter of the cylindrical grid-like sleeve. The transient area is designed as a grid with bars (18.1, 18.2) axially running in a cable direction.
