The method involves irradiating a surrounding field with scanning radiations in form of light pulses of a pulse light source, and evaluating the pulses that are reflected at objects in the field. The pulses are diffracted from a micro mirror on the field and/or received from the mirror. The mirror is tilted around axes such that a controlled movement of the mirror is carried out in a tilting direction while the mirror resonantly swings in another tilting direction. The pulses are transmitted at equidistant angle values of a tilting angle of the mirror with respect to the tilting direction. An independent claim is also included for a system for recording an image from a surrounding field of a vehicle.
