The main processor unit (CPU) has an interface module (IM) connected to a bus system (BS). The bus system is connected to peripheral units (IO) e.g. actuator, where the peripheral units are associated with the main processor unit in a centralized or decentralized manner. The bus system is formed by a field bus. The field bus is selected from one of process field busand profinet. Event-controlled selective or common activation or deactivation of power supply (Uint) is enabled, where the power supply is provided to each peripheral unit via the bus system.
