The device (1) has a locking mechanism i.e. key ring, including two partial segments (2, 3) that are inseparably connected with each other. One of the partial segments includes a lock retainer (12), and the other partial segment includes a locking body (11), where the locking body is formed to partially intervene into the lock retainer to achieve a permanent connection. The partial segments are connected in a drag hinge (4) such that a permanent connection is created by locking the lock retainer and the locking body while pivoting the partial segments. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a safety kit comprising a secured programmable electronic data memory device (2) a method for safe holding of articles in a safety kit.
