The device has a closing unit moved from a condition in which an opening in a wall or ceiling is opened to another condition in which the opening is partially or sectionwisely closed. The closing unit has a locking unit (12) that comprises two areas (15, 17) that are arranged in front of the opening in the wall or ceiling in the respective conditions, where one of the areas is provided with an opening (16). The locking unit is designed as an endless foil. The closing unit has a motor for moving the locking unit and shafts (13, 14) that are arranged at a distance from each other.
