The method involves changing a polarity at interfaces of measuring devices (5) by a pole reversal unit (6), and closing and opening of switches. Flow measurement is started and measurement results are brought. The measurement results are evaluated so that an end device (7) with an electrical signature (1) is attached to a two-or multi-wire telecommunication line (3). The measuring devices are arranged for detecting the electrical signature at free ends of the two-or multi-wire telecommunication line. Measurement values are determined by measurement lines of the measuring devices. An independent claim is also included for a measuring device for executing a method for detecting an electrical signature in cores of a two-or multi-wire telecommunication line.
