The cable (10) has a phase and a neutral line for transmitting supply voltage. An earth conductor and a measuring conductor are conductively connected with each other at an end of the cable. A measuring device is provided at another end of the cable. A coupling (50) is connected with a coupling counter piece (52) of an electric device (60) so that resistance of a measuring circuit comprising the earth conductor and measuring conductor is measured and a warning signal is output during resistance exceedance, by a measuring device (62) of the electric device. Independent claims are also included for the following : (1) an electric operating unit comprising a connector cable (2) a method for detecting fault in a connector cable.
