The device (1) has an elongate guiding unit (3) along which stocked trolleys (2) are arranged. An actuating unit (5) is attached to the guiding unit, and has a locking element (11) movable from a released position into a locked position and formed as an actuating lever. A conductive unit (4) is attached to the guiding unit at a distance in a region of the actuating unit for forming a guide way (10) between the guiding unit and the conductive unit. The actuating unit is actuated using wheels (15.1-15.3) of the trolleys during insertion of the wheels in the guide way.
