The band (1) has an electrically conductive and external insulated heating element (2) that energizable at a side by connection contacts (3, 4). Heating conductor sections (15, 16) are insulated against each other and locally and conductively connected with one another. Two superimposedly arranged laminar and flexible band conductors (7, 8) are provided as the conductor sections. The conductors contain conductive fibers e.g. carbon fibers, embedded in a thermoplastic matrix. An externally arranged laminar external insulating layer (14) is designed as a plastic film or an adhesive tape (13). The plastic film consists of polyethylene naphthalate or aramide.
