The filter (1) has a hollow cylindrical, star-shaped pleated filter medium (11) and a hollow cylindrical support mesh (2), which abuts an inner surface of the filter medium. A first front end of the filter medium and a first end of the mesh are embedded in a sealant. The sealant seals the front end of the filter medium and forms end plates (3, 4). Multiple lamellae are provided at a front end of the mesh and are embedded in the sealant. The lamellae are arranged circumferentially and are directed radially inward towards radially inwardly directed sealing surfaces (5, 6) of the end plates.
