The device has an illumination part (3) designed for differently illuminating and/or for rear-illumination of predetermined components of a leaf system (1) based on determined parameters i.e. predetermined operating condition of the leaf system. The illumination part is arranged in a passage area below a door leaf (4), where the illumination part is designed as a light strip. The illumination part has lighting units that are activated during opening of the leaf. Light sources i.e. high power-LEDs, are arranged behind projection masks that are arranged in the illumination part.
