The system has a central computer (3) connected with a product database (4). The database is divided into clusters. A unique pointer element is assigned to each cluster so that clusters are directly attached at the central computer. The pointer element is selected by a reader unit (6) e.g. bar code scanner, of an order unit (1) e.g. location-bonded order unit. A proximity sensor is assigned to the reader unit for activating the order unit and/or the reader unit. The order unit includes a communication module (2) for wireless connection with the database.
