The wastewater purification system comprises a biological purification stage (5), where a part of the wastewater (1) is conducted into a purification stage with wet oxidation after the biological purification stage and is guided back again to the wastewater in an upstream section of the wastewater purification system after the wet oxidation. The biological purification stage is aerobically carried out and works after the activated sludge process. The biological purification stage has an activated sludge tank (2a) and a subsequent settling tank (2b). The wastewater purification system comprises a biological purification stage (5), where a part of the wastewater (1) is conducted into a purification stage with wet oxidation after the biological purification stage and is guided back again to the wastewater in an upstream section of the wastewater purification system after the wet oxidation. The biological purification stage is aerobically carried out and works after the activated sludge process. The biological purification stage has an activated sludge tank (2a) and a subsequent settling tank (2b), where the part of the wastewater conducted by the wet oxidation-purification stage is partially guided into the activated sludge tank or is guided back from the activated sludge tank to the wastewater. The wet oxidation-purification stage is electrochemically carried out in an UV-supporting manner. The biological purification stage is the last biological purification stage of the wastewater purification system, and follows a further biological purification stage, which is aerobically formed and is formed as bio-filter.
