The sensor has a sensing element (11) i.e. negative temperature coefficient resistor, fastened to an electrical conductor (12) enclosed by an isolating cladding (14). An electrical insulating body (15) encloses the sensing element and portions (121) of the conductor adjacent to the sensing element. The body contains a press granulate injected transverse to a longitudinal extension of the conductor. The granulate contains aluminum oxide or alpha alumina with grain size distribution between 0 and 6 micrometer or a mixture of tabular and reactive alumina and manganese- and/or cerium oxide. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a sensor.
