The absorber (6) has exhaust strands (4a, 4b), and inlet openings (8a, 8b) connected with discharge openings (9a, 9b) by a respective longitudinal channels (10a, 10b). The inlet openings are assigned to one of the exhaust strands, and have an absorption volume (30) and a valve arrangement (15), which separates the two longitudinal channels from each other and from the absorption volume in a switching position (A). The valve arrangement connects the two longitudinal channels with each other and with the absorption volume in another switching position.
