Photopolymerizable dental composition comprises: (a) at least one photopolymerizable monomer comprising acrylate and methacrylate, preferably methacrylate; (b) at least one photoinitiator comprising alpha -diketone, benzoin alkyl ether, thioxanthone, benzophenone, acylphosphine oxide, acetophenone, ketal, titanocene, borate and sensitizing dye; (c) at least one molecular weight regulator comprising a compound, which is reacted with a radical of a monomer of the component (a); and (e) at least one inorganic filler, and optionally at least one additional additive. Photopolymerizable dental composition comprises: (a) at least one photopolymerizable monomer comprising acrylate and methacrylate, preferably methacrylate; (b) at least one photoinitiator comprising alpha -diketone, benzoin alkyl ether, thioxanthone, benzophenone, acylphosphine oxide, acetophenone, ketal, titanocene, borate and sensitizing dye; (c) at least one molecular weight regulator comprising a compound, which is reacted with a radical of a monomer of the component (a), where the reaction is carried out by abstracting a hydrogen-radical from the molecular weight regulator in allylic position; and (e) at least one inorganic filler, and optionally at least one additional additive. An independent claim is also included for preparing the dental composition comprising mixing the components (a), (b), (c) and (e), optionally (d) and optionally additional additives.
