The method involves executing gear change with a defined pressure offset for high-speed filling pressure and/or with a defined time offset for high-speed filling time when gradient of input speed and/or output speed of shift members (4) is less than a threshold value of an appropriate reference value. Overstocking of the members in the high-speed filling phase is closed, and the gear change is performed with the last increase of the pressure offset and/or time offset of valid filling parameters of the high-speed filling phase when the gradient of members is more than the threshold value.
