Device (1) for casting of candles made of liquid wax (3), comprises: a mold (5) into which the liquid wax is fillable and curable, which is formed from an elastically deformable carrier layer (11), whose surface facing wick, is arranged with an elastically deformable, heat resistant and wax repellent insulating layer (12); and a wick arranged in the mold, which is preferably aligned at longitudinal axis of the mold. An independent claim is also included for casting the candle made of wax, whose liquid wax is filled as starting material into a predetermined mold, comprising (a) producing the mold made of elastically deformable carrier layer and applying the elastically deformable, heat resistant and candle wax repellent separating- or insulating layer on the carrier layer, (b) inserting the wick into the mold, (c) fixing the wick on both the sides of the mold, (d) filling the liquid wax into the mold and (e) removing the mold from the cured candle in a nondestructive manner.
