The system has receivers (10-16) for receiving signals of a mobile radio terminal (18) of a subscriber, where each receiver is arranged in an aircraft and exhibits a time reference (26). An arrival time point of identical signal instances (20) of the signals transmitted by the mobile radio terminal, is determined for each receiver based on the respective time references. A position of the mobile radio terminal is determined by pseudo-ranging on basis of the determined arrival time points and known positions of the receivers.
