The auxiliary consumer drive system has an electric motor (4), a compressor (24), a switchable auxiliary consumer coupling unit (49), a transmission gear (185), an inverter (57) and a control element (13). The electric motor is operated as generator and as starter for an internal combustion engine (7). The compressor is controlled with electrically actuated units (41,42,44,225) in the power consumption. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an auxiliary consumer coupling unit with a tooth element; and (2) a vehicle with a vehicle speed signal.
