The method for treating foodstuffs with a mixture made of air and a liquid (11), comprises supplying the mixture to the formation of the liquid of the air in a treatment chamber (2) in such a way that the liquid in the air is sucked by a ventilator (5) from the treatment chamber into a separate mixing area (8) in an inlet of the mixing area sprayed suction-side coaxial to the ventilator, swirling inside in an extended mixing area and subsequently relaxing again into the treatment chamber. The flowing air is guided into the closed treatment chamber first of all at side walls.
