The method for treating foodstuffs with a mixture made of air and a liquid (11), comprises supplying the mixture to the formation of the liquid of the air in a treatment chamber (2) in such a way that the liquid in the air is sucked by a ventilator (5) from the treatment chamber into a separate mixing area (8) in an inlet of the mixing area sprayed suction-side coaxial to the ventilator, swirling inside in an extended mixing area and subsequently relaxing again into the treatment chamber. The flowing air is guided into the closed treatment chamber first of all at side walls. The method for treating foodstuffs with a mixture made of air and a liquid (11), comprises supplying the mixture to the formation of the liquid of the air in a treatment chamber (2) in such a way that the liquid in the air is sucked by a ventilator (5) from the treatment chamber into a separate mixing area (8) in an inlet of the mixing area sprayed suction-side coaxial to the ventilator, swirling inside in an extended mixing area and subsequently relaxing again into the treatment chamber. The flowing air is guided into the closed treatment chamber first of all at side walls the same with blowing direction downward, then inward and again upward back to the ventilator and flows through before the inlet into the ventilator of a heating device (17). The liquid is water and the heating device is selected in high performance in such a way that the air inflowing from the treatment chamber is heated upward the ventilator in such a way that an air-water vapor-mixture is presented in a temperature range of 250[deg] C into the mixing area with the injected water. The transport elements are arranged on top of each other in floorwise manner for the respective foodstuffs to be treated into the treatment chamber that are formed against the side walls of distance as passages for the down flowing mixture between its distance as the passages for flowing mixture after interior over the foodstuffs, and central passages for flowing mixture towards the top back to the ventilator. An independent claim is included for a device for implementing foodstuffs with a mixture made of air and a liquid.
