Bearing component measuring method, involves determining correction value based on misorientation of bearing component relative to reference direction, where dimension of component is determined from measurement value and correction value
The method involves irradiating a bearing component (1) with an optical pattern (13). The optical pattern is shaded area by area by the component so that the optical pattern comprises a shaded zone (18) and an illuminated zone (19) in a light direction behind the component. The shaded zone and/or the illuminated zone are measured with a spatial resolution detector (17) to produce a measurement value. A correction value is determined based on misorientation of the component relative to a reference direction. Dimension e.g. diameter (d), of the component is determined from the values. An independent claim is also included for a device for measuring a bearing component.
