The switchable cam follower (1) has a hollow-cylindrical outer element (2) for actuating a valve with large stroke and a cylindrical inner element (3) for actuating a valve with smaller stroke. The outer element is arranged over a skirt (4) in a cylinder head or crankcase of an internal combustion engine in a longitudinally adjustable manner. A pressure fluid channel (13) is opened directly in a borehole (41) which is arranged in one of the projections (32,33) of an annular section (5).
