The invention relates to a slide ring seal for providing a fluid lubricated, in particular liquid lubricated, sealing between a pair of relatively rotatable components, in particular between a stationary and a rotating component, with a first sliding ring, which with respect to one of the components as well as an axially fixed and sealed in a manner fixed against relative rotation is fastened, and a second sliding ring, which in relation to the other component is fastened and sealed in a rotationally fixed manner. The second sliding ring is in the direction of the first slide ring axially movable, so that mutually opposite surfaces of the first and second seal ring cooperate in such a way that a sealing gap is formed between these. At least a channel in any one of the slip rings is provided, wherein the channel on the sealing surface of the sliding ring within the sealing gap opens, wherein the channel is a lubricating fluid, in particular a lubricant, and leads. At least one sensor is for the monitoring of operating conditions is provided, and the lubricating fluid via the channel the sealing gap, into a function of the monitored operating conditions will be supplied, in order to optimize the operating behavior of the slide ring seal. In the axial face seal (1) is a, preferably micromechanical, conveying device (21) for conveying of the lubricating fluid integrated. In this case, an output side (24) of the conveying device (21) with the channel (17) and an input side (25) of the conveying device is connected through a further channel (18) connected with a fluid-filled space. The conveying device (21) is ideally in the stationary slide ring (7), in particular in the axially stationary slide ring (7), is arranged.
