The roller bearing (1) has two coaxial bearing rings and multiple roller bodies (4) that are arranged between the bearing rings, where the roller bodies are unrolled on associated tracks (5,6) at the bearing rings. The elements are effective at track areas (8) of the hollow bearing rings, by which the profiling of the track areas is adapted dynamically to the bearing load. An independent claim is also included for a method for avoiding overloading and for extending the fatigue life of the roller bearing.
