The device has light sources e.g. hydrargyrum quartz iodide (HQI) lamps, provided with focal spots, where particle and/or cell current (9) with constant flow rate are introduced into a flow cell (8). A detector (18) is provided with a measuring point, where time resolution for measurement of fluorescence signals is producible in accordance with a relationship. The measuring point of the detector comprises local displacements relative to the focal spots of the light sources, where the local displacements are changed during operation of the device. An independent claim is also included for a method for time-resolved measurement of fluorescence signals in flow-cytometric investigation of cells and/or particles.
