The apparatus has a flow-technical diagnostic line (14a) provided in addition to a flow-technical connection unit (13a). The diagnostic line is opened and closed during incorrect assembly and correct assembly of the connection unit, respectively. A low pressure source (10a) i.e. air intake line, is connected to the diagnostic line, where a diagnostic unit recognizes the incorrect assembly of the connection unit based on an operational parameter i.e. combustion engine rotation speed, influenced by the source. The diagnostic line is coupled with vent lines (11a, 12a) by the connection unit. An independent claim is also included for a method for recognition of incorrect assembly of two vent lines.
