The transmission assembly has a drive element (1.1) pivotally supported around a rotating axis and an output element (2.2) pivotally supported around another rotating axis. The drive elements are assigned to different shifted gears of a two- or multi stage traction drive or a combination of traction drive and gear drive. The shifted gears are coupled such that the product of the partial transmission ratios of the individual shifted gears is equal to the overall multiplication factor ratio and is less or greater than an overall multiplication factor ratio. An independent claim is also included for a chassis with a wheel.
