The press (1) has a container (10) for receiving food to be transformed, and a push plate (16) moved into the container. A container bottom (11) includes apertures (12). Threaded sleeves (17-21) are arranged at the push plate and a counter shaft (22). Outer diameter of the threaded sleeves arranged at the push plate is larger than outer diameter of the threaded sleeves arranged at the countershaft. The threaded sleeves and the countershaft comprise a common axis. The threaded sleeves are partly surrounded by bellows. The bellows are fixed at the push plate. An independent claim is also included for a method for reshaping food by a drive unit.
