The profile strand (18) has two hollow section strands (19, 20) running parallel to each other and connected with each other. The profile strand exhibits a U-shaped cross-section such that the section strands form profile legs of a U-profile and are arranged at a distance to each other. A base (13) of the U-profile has two profile walls (25, 26) for connecting the section strands with each other. One of the profile walls has a material discontinuity (35) running along the profile strand, where the material discontinuity is formed by weakening material of the profile walls. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a rear-side closure of a convertible roof of a motor car comprising seal surfaces formed in a lower side and/or an inner side of a roof case cover (2) a method for assembling a convertible roof.
