The joint (1) has a retainer and balls arranged between an outer joint part (3) and an inner joint part, where the outer and inner joint parts are provided with ball raceways. A transmission-sided surface (14) of a closure band is designed as a sealing surface. A front surface of an outer joint portion forms a contact surface of the joint. Holes (15) are formed in a transition area of a recess (20) along an axially extending direction. A sealing cap (11) is arranged over an outer band (21) in a shaft side of the outer joint part.
