The device has two turbines (1) and two compressors (2) arranged transverse to longitudinal axis of the device. Combustion chambers (3) are arranged outside the longitudinal axis of the device. A low-pressure turbine (1") commonly drives a fan (4) such that rotational torque is transferred to a fan gear (7) by a mitre gear (5) and a shaft (6), where the mitre gear and the fan gear reduce rotation speed of the fan. Burners are centrally arranged in the combustion chambers for expanding compressed air flow into a high pressure turbine (1') and the low-pressure turbine.
