The method involves guiding a vent line (17) from a gear housing (9) of a supercharger to a suction passage (15) arranged upstream to the supercharger, where the housing retains a gear box for driving rotors. A load of a combustion engine (1) is controlled by a butterfly valve that is arranged in the passage. Pressure in the gear housing is dropped and/or released by the vent line depending on pressure drop between the housing and the passage caused by an operating point of the engine such that air overflows from the housing to the passage. An independent claim is also included for a suction module comprising a mechanical supercharger with rotors.
