The device has a small energy plant (1) with an energy storage unit (2) coupled to a power generation unit (3) having energy carriers (3a-3c) for flexible power supply to a series of electrical energy consumers. The power generation unit is connected to the energy storage unit through interfaces (4). An operating mode of the power generating unit is detected by an internal server (5), where the server transmits data regarding the operating mode to an external data processing unit (7) through a communication network (6).
