The wave energy converter has two main components, a floating body (1) which lies under water and a generator buoy (2) which floats on the water. The generator buoy is connected with the floating body over a retractable rope (4). A pivotal connection is formed between the generator buoy and the floating body. Three pair of legs are fixed at the generator buoy and at floating body in a hinged manner. Each leg has a joint between its axle stubs.
