The sliding carriage lock (10) has a clamp bolt (16) screwed in a sliding carriage (12), whose free ends lock against a guiding profile (14) in a locking position of the sliding carriage. An actuating element (28) is provided for rotating the clamp bolt and is axially displaced against the clamp bolt. A spring unit (26) is arranged between the clamp bolt and the actuating element. An independent claim is also included for a gripping- or clamping device with a base jaw.
