The zipper (RTM: slide fastener) (10), has closure tapes (11, 12) having interlinking teeth, and a slider (20) adjustable for opening and closing the fastener along the tapes. The slider is provided with a catch element (25) e.g. tongue such as flexible leaf spring, and an end piece (17) is provided at an end of the fastener for holding the catch element in a catching position of the slider. The piece includes a covered releasing element for releasing the catch element. The catch element stands away from the slider, and is inserted into a guide groove (19) of the piece.
