The source (1) has a container (5) in which a chemical reaction or a phase transition heat delivering medium is incorporated. Another container (6) is present in addition to the former container, where the containers are separated by removable partition wall (7). The chemical reaction contained in the containers is released by removing or destroying of the partition wall. Acid anhydride or acid salt, and basic anhydride or basic salt are used as heat-generating agent in the containers. The acid anhydride is a phosphorus pentoxide and non-metallic oxide e.g. oxide of sulfur, nitrogen or phosphorus. The acid salt is a metal halide i.e. aluminum chloride. The basic anhydride is an oxide of metal selected from a group consists of lithium, sodium, potassium, rubidium, cesium, magnesium, calcium, strontium or barium.
