Method for detecting lateral environment of motor vehicle using e.g. optical mirror, involves displaying optical warning signal to object in motor vehicle based on position of object, where object is detected in dead-angle-region of vehicle
The method involves detecting image data by image detecting units (B1, B2) that are arranged on left and right sides (1.1, 1.2) of a motor vehicle (1), respectively. The image data is displayed on displaying units (A1, A2) that are attached on the image detecting units. An optical warning signal to an object is displayed in the motor vehicle based on a position of the object, where the object is detected in a dead-angle-region of the motor vehicle. The optical warning signal is displayed on the displaying units, and lateral distance of the motor vehicle is determined by the detected object.
