The sealing element (42) has a filter screen (34) fixedly connected with the element over an elastically-formed protuberance and a locking element comprising a front side that is turned toward the filter screen, where the element is made from ethylene propylene diene rubber by using single-piece injection-molding process. The protuberance is engaged into a cavity in a low pressure-side front end of the sealing element. The protuberance has shape of a mushroom, a button or a detent. An outer surface (44) of the sealing element is arranged at an outer jacket (38) of a piston (14). An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a hydraulic piston pump.
