The method involves recording two three-dimensional (3D) images of a section (6.1) of an inner wall of a pipeline (2) by cameras (4.1, 4.3, 4.6, 4.9) i.e. digital 3D cameras, when two pressures present in the pipeline, respectively. The two images are compared with each other for determining displacement of the inner wall in one of the images with respect to the other image. The two images are obtained from same position within the pipeline, and amplitude of the displacement of the inner wall is determined and is compared with a reference value.
