The machine has a collet provided for a supply coil, a holding unit provided for a main coil (14), and yarns rewindable from the supply coil to the main coil in a winding-up direction. A drive unit is released by a yarn breakage of the main coil and/or the main coil is driven against the winding-up direction to unwound the yarns over a yarn end with a tensile force of the main coil against the winding-up direction. The tensile force of the main coil is smaller than tensile strength of the yarns. A coupler (40) is provided between the drive unit and main coil.
