The plate (10) has a transparent carrier part (16) made of plastic, and a transparent optically effective layer having front and rear broad sides (20, 22) and edge sides, where the layer on the edge sides and on one of the broad sides is coated with plastic by injection molding. The layer is scratch-resistant and chemical-resistant. The layer is designed as a laminate and as a polarization foil filter (18). A functional structure (32) of the plate extends parallel to the broad sides of the layer. The layer is designed as an anti-reflection layer and/or a glare-free layer and as an optical retarder.
