The spacer (12) has two partitions (20, 22) divided into an area of a defined partitioning space (24). The two partitions are arranged on sides of a pane i.e. windscreen (10), and an installation part (14) of the vehicle, respectively. The two partitions are connected by a locking connection (26) or a detachable form-fit connection. An inserted separative element is provided between the two partitions, and a perforation or a separating area is provided as the defined partitioning space. An independent claim is also included for a method for fastening a pane of a vehicle.
